Phoenix Cyclops DLC – MARVEL Fighting Souls

Phoenix Cyclops was officially revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 as the first DLC character for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Voiced by Ray Chase, who also voices Cyclops in the X-Men '97 animated series, Phoenix Cyclops draws inspiration from his Phoenix Five incarnation from the Avengers vs. X-Men comic storyline.

This version of Scott Summers bonds with the cosmic Phoenix Force, granting him devastating Optic Blasts enhanced with Phoenix fire, relentless close-range pressure tools, and cosmic flame abilities. The character is scheduled to release in Fall 2026 as part of the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass.

Phoenix Force Abilities

Phoenix Cyclops combines his signature Optic Blasts with the cosmic power of the Phoenix Force. Expect enhanced projectile attacks that burn with Phoenix fire, potentially featuring tracking properties or area denial mechanics that differentiate him from standard zoner archetypes.

The Phoenix Force integration suggests Phoenix Cyclops may have unique gauge mechanics tied to the cosmic entity — similar to Ghost Rider's Vengeance Gauge or Wolverine's Berserker Rage. His hand-to-hand combat abilities are enhanced alongside his ranged options, making him a versatile fighter.

Year 1 DLC Roadmap

Phoenix Cyclops is the first of four additional characters planned for the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass. One new stage is also included in the pass. The remaining three DLC characters and the new stage have not yet been revealed.

The Year 1 Pass is included in the Digital Deluxe ($84.99) and Ultimate ($99.99) editions of the game. It will also be available as a separate purchase after launch. All DLC content is expected to release by December 2027.

Voice Actor — Ray Chase

Ray Chase brings his experience voicing Cyclops in X-Men '97 to the fighting game realm. His portrayal of Scott Summers has been praised by fans for capturing the character's leadership qualities and tactical mind.
