Game Modes – MARVEL Fighting Souls
MARVEL Fighting Souls game modes guide — All-Star Arena, Arcadia Rumble, Battle Arcadia, Ranked, Episode Mode, Training, and offline options.
The August 2026 launch trailer and official posts revealed a broader mode list than the Open Beta showcased. Beyond Ranked, Casual, Room Matches, Episode Mode, Local Versus, and Training, launch includes All-Star Arena, Arcadia Rumble, Battle Arcadia lobby mini-games, and Character Guides.
Think of the game as two layers: the core 4v4 tag fighter, and a social / casual layer built around chibi lobby avatars — the same design language Arc System Works refined in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
All-Star Arena (Offline)
All-Star Arena is an offline single-player course mode where you navigate routes and pick battles using different team combinations. Coverage describes it as a roguelike-leaning structure — you select encounters as you progress rather than grinding identical arcade ladders.
It is listed among fully offline activities alongside Episode Mode, Local Versus, Training, Character Guides, and offline Arcadia Rumble versus CPU. Use it to practice compositions without ranked pressure.
Arcadia Rumble (Offline or Up to 8 Online)
Arcadia Rumble drops you into a beat-em-up style map using chibi avatars. Players contest zones, collect stars and Fighter Souls, level up those souls, and mix in versus bursts. Official messaging frames it as fast, chaotic, leaderboard-friendly competition for up to eight players online — or offline against CPU opponents.
It evolves the spirit of Grand Bruise Legends from Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising while folding in more traditional fight beats. If you want Marvel chaos without committing to a full Ranked set, start here after the tutorial.
Battle Arcadia, Ranked & Online Lobby
Battle Arcadia refers to the collection of mini-games hosted inside the online lobby. The lobby itself supports large social spaces (up to 64 players) with arcade cabinets for direct challenges. Ranked and Casual Matches, Room Matches, and Battle Arcadia require an internet connection and a platform account (PlayStation Plus is required for PS5 online multiplayer).
Cross-play between PS5 and PC is available at launch for online modes. Offline Episode Mode remains the best way to learn character stories written by Kieron Gillen before you queue.
Training, Character Guides & Episode Mode
Training Mode is the lab for Link Attacks, assists, and Wall Break routes. In-game Character Guides complement Startup Battle tutorials. Episode Mode delivers roughly ten hours of motion-comic story with playable fights across all five teams — fully offline.
